The operetta’s joyful and extravagant atmosphere will take the audience to 18th century Paris.


More than 150 beautiful costumes have been created for main and secondary characters. The corps de ballet and choir singers will be dressed in special costumes also. The designer Juozas Statkevičius brought the samples of decorations from Paris and borrowed three ancient fans from the private collection.


The main character of the operetta is the historical personality Jeanne-Antoinette Poisson or Marquise de Pompadour. She is also known as Madame de Pompadour. This woman was the official lover of the French King Ludwig XV. This smart Marquise surrounded the king by loyal people and determined the state interior and foreign policy. She cherished arts and science and was one of those women the world never forgets.
